Pik Bread with Chicken Tikka Masala

 

Ingredients (4 people):


– 4 large pita breads
– 500 gr of chicken breast
– 1/2 iceberg lettuce
– 7 c. s. tikka masala sauce (Indian sauce based on spices)
– 1 plain Greek yogurt
– Olive oil
– White pepper
– Salt



Elaboration:


We preheat the oven 180º fan.


We wash the lettuce well, cut it into thin strips and leave it reserved for a while to drain the water.


Pour the yogurt in a small bowl, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil, a pinch of salt and a little white pepper, stir well until there is no lump left and reserve in the fridge.


Cut the chicken into large cubes with a sharp knife, then cover the bottom of a frying pan with olive oil and when it is hot add the chicken with a little salt, let it cook over medium / strong heat, turning it over occasionally until golden brown, once golden brown add the tikka masala sauce to the pan and continue cooking for about 3/5 minutes over medium heat.


We moisten the pitas and put them in the oven for 6 minutes, turning them halfway through so that they cook well on both sides. Pitas can also be made in the toaster is faster but for my taste they are not the same.


To assemble the pitas once we have taken them out of the oven or toaster, let them cool down a bit and cut them around the edge, leaving a hole without cutting them in half. Next we put a tablespoon of our yogurt sauce, a few pieces of chicken, a little lettuce and another tablespoon of yogurt, close the bread a little and serve.
