Custard

Today my son asked me for custard and I got down to work.

Ingredients:

  • A liter of milk
  • 3 spoonfuls of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 egg yolks
  • a cinnamon stick
  • five pieces of lemon peel
  • 10 cookies

Elaboration:

We put milk in a saucepan together with the sugar, the pieces of lemon rind and the cinnamon and heat. We separate the whites from the yolks and reserve. Mix the cornstarch with the yolks and a little bit of cold milk very well in a bowl. Separate the saucepan from the fire and gradually incorporate the mixture, stirring very well, put it back on the fire and when it thickens, it is done. You have to be careful, it should not boil because lumps would form. We place the custard in a bowl and put the cookies on top. When it cools we put them in the fridge.

Tip: wash the lemon well with hot water.
