Quick and easy gyros pita recipe
Gyros pita the Greek kebab: it is a Greek dish very similar to the Turkish kebab but pork is used for the realization, unlike the kebab that uses lamb, beef or chicken (never pork!), chips, salad, tomato, onion are added and is topped with the typical Greek sauce: tzatziki, la pita it is the bread that wraps the meat (gyros). Try making gyros at home, it's really easy !!!
Ingredients for 2 people
- 2 slices of pork
- mulino bianco piadelle
- 1 tomato for salad
- potatoes (or frozen fries)
- Tzatziki sauce
How to make Gyros pita the Greek kebab
First you need to prepare the tzatziki sauce, then fry the chips, add salt and keep them warm, prepare the meat by cutting the pork slices into thin strips (I use kitchen scissors, it's done first!) Put them in a non-stick pan with a little 'of oil and pepper,
cook them in a pan or in the oven for a few minutes until they are crispy (be careful not to overcook otherwise the meat becomes hard), add salt and keep warm together with the chips, put the piadelle (packaged wraps; among the various ones on the market I found more suitable "the piadelle" of Mulino Bianco) on a non-stick pan and heat them on each side for a minute, proceed to stuff the pita (or piadina in this case), spread a layer of tzatziki sauce, then a few leaves of salad, a few slices of tomato, the meat (gyros),
and some fries, add a little more tzatziki sauce, close with a napkin and your gyros pita is ready! ENJOY YOUR MEAL!!!
