American biscuit cookies Quick and easy recipe
American biscuit cookies: I've been looking for them for a long time, I've tried to make them often and the recipe that I propose today is from an American friend and is the one that reminds me the most ...
Ingredients for 20 biscuits
- 120 gr of butter at room temperature
- 75 gr cane sugar (or powdered sugar)
- 75 gr granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract u a sachet of vanillin
- 1 egg
- 240 grams of flour
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- 170 gr of dark chocolate chips
- a teaspoon of fine sea salt
How To Make American Cookies Cookies
ATTENTION: the success of the biscuits depends above all on the amount of dough to create the individual biscuits, the more dough you put the softer they will be, with less dough (a teaspoon) they will be more crunchy.
Whisk together the sugar and the butter previously softened at room temperature (in this recipe I used icing sugar, with dark cane sugar they are even more similar to the American recipe)
Add the vanilla extract (or vanilla sachet), then sift together the flour and baking soda, turn with a whisk
Then add the egg and keep stirring the mixture (a spoon is fine too)
until it is perfectly absorbed into the dough. Add the chopped chocolate pieces or the chocolate chips, put the dough in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Put a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet and divide the dough into balls, a little larger than a marble, I recommend that you space them apart because when cooking in the oven they flatten and widen. Add very little salt to the surface for each biscuit… just a few grains. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool on the tray for a couple of minutes before moving onto a wire rack to cool completely.
And your Cookies (American biscuits) are ready… Bon appetit !!!
PAIRING: Tea or milk and coffee, or mulled wine
