Ingredients for 2 people
- about 16 Brussels sprouts
- smoked paprika
- 50 gr of bacon (sweet or smoked) or bacon
- extra virgin olive oil
How to cook Brussels sprouts in a pan
Wash the Brussels sprouts and remove the outer leaves, the first 4-6 leaves. Rinse the sprouts again and cut the base of the sprouts (the hardest part) forming a cross with the tip of the knife.
Place the sprouts in the steamer basket (if you do not have it you can use a steel colander, placing it on a pan with 4-5 fingers of water) cover the steamer basket with a lid of the same size, let it cook steam for 20 minutes.
Once the sprouts are cooked, cut them in half, put the bacon cubes and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a pan, let it sizzle and add the Brussels sprouts, sauté them in a pan for 7-8 minutes, almost at the end of cooking. also add a sprinkling of smoked paprika, both the paprika and the pancetta will give flavor and soften the bitter taste of the sprouts.
