Heart of strawberries on vanilla cream: this dessert came by itself, I wanted to create a very simple dessert to prepare on Mother's Day and I thought of something that all the daughters could prepare without taking too long, but above all that the result was guaranteed. With just a few ingredients: a roll of puff pastry, a spreadable cream (Philadelphia), a little icing sugar, strawberries… that's it. Even if the secret ingredient (now it isn't anymore) is vanilla seeds !!! They are found in all supermarkets, you can replace them with vanillin powder, but the seeds are another thing! You will love the cream obtained with these 3 ingredients! And then about twenty minutes in the oven, a little icing sugar and your dessert will be ready for Mother's Day, and by changing the ingredients it can also be made on Valentine's Day!
Ingredients
- 400 gr of strawberries
- 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry
- 1 350g packet of Philadelphia (or other spreadable cheese)
- 1 vanilla bean
- 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar + some to decorate

How to make a heart of strawberries on vanilla cream
The first thing to do is rinse the strawberries under running water and put them on a towel to dry (well!), In the meantime prepare the cream.
Put the cream cheese, the icing sugar and the vanilla seeds in a bowl, cutting the berry in half and taking all the contents (black) with the tip of a teaspoon. Stir with a fork and taste, isn't it very good!?!? 🙂

Now you can cut the strawberries into wedges I recommend cutting them lengthwise into 4 wedges.
Take the dough, unroll it and leave it on its sheet of parchment paper, fold the dough into two equal parts and with a knife or a pizza cutter, engrave the shape of half a heart,

reopening the pastry you will find yourself a precise heart.

Spread the vanilla cream leaving a border of about 1 cm all around the heart; place the strawberry wedges on the cream creating the design you prefer,

on the empty edge, pass your finger wet with water and pour a little granulated sugar over it (once the pastry is cooked that part will be crunchy and very good!).

Bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes and for 5 minutes again placing a sheet of aluminum foil on the surface to prevent the edges from darkening.
NB Not everyone likes the flavor of cooked strawberries, to remedy the heart-shaped pastry you can first cook it by brushing it with water and sprinkling with granulated sugar, bake at 180 ° for 15 minutes, or in any case until golden brown, remove from the oven and leave to cool, spread the cream and add the strawberries and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Add powdered sugar and serve. Enjoy your meal!
