Cheese naan or Indian cheese breadUsually used to accompany yogurt chicken skewers in traditional Indian cuisine. Naan (bread) is of Pakistani origin but is widespread throughout the Middle East, India, Iran and especially in West Indian restaurants.
INGREDIENTS for 5 CHEESE NAAN
- 1/2 sachet of granular yeast
- 300 gr. made with flour
- 1 jar of plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons of oil
- 1/2 glass of warm water
- 250 gr. cream cheese (Tigre cheese)
How to make cheese naan or Indian cheese bread
Add the yeast to the flour, the yogurt, the oil, the salt, and the warm water
knead for 10 minutes, let the dough rest for an hour by wrapping it in cling film,
cut the dough into 5 parts,
roll out the individual parts with a rolling pin forming discs,
put a spoonful of cream cheese in the center of each disc, close gently (I used both Philadelphia and tiger cheese… and I definitely preferred the ones in which I had put tiger cheese! a couple for each disc).
Cook in a non-stick pan (without any seasoning inside the pan) with the lid on, 2 minutes per side. Serve hot and… GOOD APPETITE !!
